The Sanctuary NQT Programme in conjunction with OLEVI
Developed by the Sanctuary, this programme has been running successfully for the last 4 years in Oldham, and has been badged by OLEVI. This year we are proud that this programme is now being run nationally.
This Newly Qualified Teacher programme was designed to consolidate teaching pedagogy, develop reflection and improve teacher practice. Based around teacher standards, the programme will break down all aspects for an effective classroom practitioner, develop understanding and move teaching to a higher level. The programme also has coaching elements to support the Induction mentor to ensure this first vital year has maximum impact for all concerned.
This programme has had significant impact on the children, schools and NQTs across the Oldham Local Authority. This year we are proud to have trained 90 NQTs across Oldham, Kirklees and Cheshire. Paul Britner a delegate of the programme felt:
“Training days at the Sanctuary are always relevant and seem to come at the right time in your development. The facilitators are sympathetic to the demands of being an NQT, but also able to offer ideas or advice to help trainees to develop in their practice.”
