School Direct is an exciting teacher training initiative designed by the DfE to give schools a leading role in training the next generation of teachers and educational leaders. Unlike the more traditional PGCE route, this programme offers students invaluable training time in outstanding schools, learning from outstanding practitioners, whilst still offering the academic rigour of working with HEI providers.
The Sanctuary School Direct programme is unique because we offer 120 days in our outstanding alliance schools, 30 days of core training in an outstanding teaching school, and a further 30 days with our HEI Provider; the University of Huddersfield; an outstanding provider which is one of the top centres in the country for teacher education and is committed to excellence.
